  • Here's just a quick look at Nicole and Johnny's wedding yesterday in Capitola. The sun came out for the most perfect hour of the entire week right before sunset. So NJ braved the colder temperature and we hit the beach!

I love this sexy look from John.

  • And the happiness in this photo.

  • More soon to come. Enjoy your honeymoon!

  • Today would have been my dad's 68th Birthday. As many of you know my dad died in 2005 after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer's. All this week I have been anxious about today. Every year when it is his birthday or another special day ( Father's Day, the anniversary of his death) I struggle. It has been 5 years and some would say it has been enough time to "get over it". But I have learned that I will never do that. I lost my dad way too soon, before he could meet all of my children, before he could see them grow up, before they could know him and remember him, and before I was ready (not that you are ever ready). I think about him every day. I see so much of him in my kids, I know he would have been the most awesome Papa to them and I am so sorry for them that they will never know that. I miss him so very much.

  • But this year has been a little different. Two days before his birthday I made contact with my former step-sister Kelly and step-mother Chris. I spoke to Chris on the phone Wednesday night and she told me that she had some items to send to me. Items that she has kept for almost 20 years since their divorce. She had a watch of his that he wore so much that the gold had worn off, tons of pictures from our childhood, his baby book, his Varsity Letter, and his High School class ring. Yesterday morning she called and told me she was sending them and it would be a couple of days. of coarse I cried knowing that I was going to be able to have these treasured mementos of my dad's. She then a little while later messaged me and said...

  • "OK...I think I know you....take a time-out and grab a tissue....unless a bridge collapses or there is impassable snow between Fresno and Roseville the package should arrive at your home TOMORROW, 1/22/10. I hope it will brighten your day and please don't think of it as being sad.....just be glad you have this little part of your dad to share with your family & with Scott and his family!Always,Chris"
So today I received the most wonderful gift on my dad's birthday. A box filled with such special things.

  • I am so grateful to her for hanging onto these things for all of these years. Whatever her reason may have been, we now know that it was meant to be that I found Kelly on Wednesday afternoon on Facebook and connected with them again. This box has brought so much happiness into my world. I personally don't think the timing was just a coincidence, I think it was much more than that. So thank you dad, for watching over me, even now. And thank you Chris. There will never be words to express how much you have given to me.

  • Happy Birthday to You...
    Happy Birthday to You...
    Happy Birthday to Dad...
    Happy Birthday to You!!!!

    I love you
