  • This evening we met Pam, Luke, Rhianna, Quentin and Mixsy for some mexican food at Vallejo's in downtown Sac before heading over to Southside Park for some family photos. And I have to say - what a bunch of hams! They are my favorite kind of family to photograph! Rhianna has the most gorgeous long dark hair and Quentin, for only being 6, has a super strong high-5. And Mixsy - super sweetheart - she's a facility dog used in caring for disabled children where Pam teaches.family photography 1

  • Tonight we met Marcia and Alan in Old Sacramento at Fat City for dinner, drinks, engagement photos and fun. We caught up on wedding plans and enjoyed some yummy pasta while we talked. We headed down the boardwalk to start taking engagement photos, stopped in front of several colorful buildings, and we rested for a brief sec at the benches overlooking the river. Before leaving Old Sac to head into downtown for more photos, Marcia and Alan put on a "Dirty Dancing" rendition of the famous fly move. Marcia's laugh as Alan caught her and set her down to safety was contagious!engagement photos 1engagement photos 2Marcia wanted to get an engagement photo in front of the Old Market mural on 17th Street. We even went into the actual market and bought apples to give it a real effect. Marcia took a bite of her apple and the juice flew into Alan's eye!engagement photos 3And just before we lost all light, we caught this nice reflection in an abandoned storefront window. Don't you just love the colors!engagement photos 4

  • Today we went for a 3 hour hike, well I was done at 3 hours, Cory went on for another hour. I tried out my new hiking shoes - Merrell Moab's - from Rei. I thought I could hang for 3 hours and still have a productive day. Boy did I over do it - I won't be the one cooking dinner tonight!

  • I had the pleasure of photographing Sophia and Bryant the other day. I love photographing children! Sophia is 3 1/2 years old and Bryant will be turning one in October. Mommy wanted to surprise daddy for Fathers Day with some new photos of the children. We started at the park and played in the grass with trucks and flowers. Bryant wasn't really in the mood for photos when we started, but once we returned home, he warmed up and started laughing up a storm. And I was introduced to Sophia's favorite dollies - the Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and Strawberry Shortcake. I laughed as she called me into her room "Hey photo lady - come here." We ended our few hours together with a feet comparison.child photoschild photographer children photography

  • I just attended the launch party for the Summer 2007 issue of Your Wedding Day in San Francisco last Thursday. It was a blast to meet many new great Bay area vendors, as well as say hi to those that I've worked with in the past. They put on a good show for the Your Wedding Day launch and had several designers show off their skills by putting together awesome table settings. We drank pear martinis and listened to live music atop the penthouse suite at Hotel Vitale (my fave hotel in the city!) You'll see more of their launch party featured in their October Fall issue. By the way, check out our new ad in this Summer issue of Your Wedding Day - we think the new ad design is full of fun and simple style!Your Wedding Day Launch 1Your Wedding Day Launch 2
