  • Shirley and Young Engagement Photos 1Another September wedding engagement photo shoot iShirley and Young Engagement Photos 2n the July 100+ degree heat. I had not met Young before we met last Thursday in Old Sacramento. It took a few minutes for him to warm up to getting his photo taken, as is the case with most men. But once he realized he could smile and joke with me during the photo shoot, he was all smiles.

We walked throughout Old Sac and randomly stopped whenever the evening light and ideas struck. I enjoyed our last two stops the most. The wide open grass in front of the Railroad museum was an opportunity for Shirley and Young to relax and laugh while I was off in the distance with the camera. Shirley even had a chance to close her eyes. The last stop was in front of the beautiful wooden doors and brick walls of the old horse barn. The color of the wood and light combined to give a lovely glow.

  • Kirsten and Keith Engagement Photos 1I met Kirsten and Keith in Old Folsom last week for their engagment shoot. I wish it hadn't been quite so hot, but they were real troopers as I kept putting them into sunlight. :-)

One my favorite photos turned out to be where it was the perfect time of day to get their shadows on the wall beside them as they hugged and kissed. It was fun to turn a variety of poses into a fun piece of art with bright colored backgrounds. Kirsten and Keith Engagement Photos 2

To end our day, we stopped by the river to get some nice natural photos at sunset. I'm not sure if it's because we were almost done (and about to get out of the heat) or if they were used to me snapping off a few photos, but they smiled naturally for the camera and looked perfectly relaxed.

  • Engagement Photos - Vathary and Sean 1While I had met Vathary previously, I met Sean for the first time at our engagment session this last week. We planned for a location in El Dorado Hills. I had scouted out the site the week prior and was ecstatic that there were still ducks in the pond - I surprised Vathary and Sean by bringing bread along for them to feed the ducks. A little fun mixed into the photo session.

What I learned about Sean and Vathary after watching them interact is that they both love to laugh. I myself am bit of a ham, so I appreciated it when Sean would goof off and make us all giggle. Vathary and Sean's wedding is coming up in very early September.

Sophia was born just two weeks ago - isn't she adorable!

She takes after her two sisters and daddy with her big bright blue eyes. Big brother didn't want to miss out though and was a master at holding baby Sofia.

Sophia is the newest member of my Treasured Moments program and we'll be keeping up with her growth every three months for this entire first year!baby photos 2

The Memory Journalists have been such a joy to work with. The level of talent, professionalism and respect that both Jen and Cory have shown us has truly exceeded our expectations of what a wedding photographer should be. They have the perfect balance of being creative and fun to work with while being extremely efficient. We were able to see our wedding pictures before we left on our honeymoon! I would recommend the Memory Journalists to anyone with the highest confidence of their complete satisfaction.
