  • Jillian & Jeff first contacted us well over a year before their scheduled wedding date. Although there were a few changes in their venue during the year, it ended being an amazing day. You could feel the love from all the friends and family that had traveled from near and far to be a part of their wedding.

We worked with some fabulous vendors on this wedding!

  • Here in Sacramento, there are a lot to explore, and places to spend quality, family time. Kids can often get weary at home, or is just on their electronics all day. Take them out and get active. Today, I want to share with you some of my family's favorite places, and hope they become yours, too, in time.

One of the places you might consider is Dave and Busters in Roseville. My boyfriend and I often take our daughter there for decent food, and fun in games. They offer an "Eat & Play Combo," which gets you dinner, and a $10 power card for games. The best time to go is Wednesday for their ½ price games. You can't beat that deal. It's the perfect place for us because we can all just be kids, and carefree.

  • Chuck-E-Cheese in Elk Grove, or the Arden area is a good place for much younger kids. They get to meet Chuck-E and are surrounded by bright flashing lights, and a bunch of other eager little munchkins. Their unlimited salad bar is a hit, and pepperoni pizza of course. Enter the home of Chuck-E, get stamped at the door, get your tokens, and play freely.

  • Bowling is a must for the family at some point in your life. For some reason, kids dig rolling big, and heavy balls and knocking pins down. Just remember to put up the safety lanes for less gutter balls, and more joy will come out of them. Our favorite spot is Strikes in Elk Grove. There is also one located in Roseville. The best time to beat the crowd and get the best out of bowling is Saturday and Sunday. Get their "Early Bird" special from 9-11 a.m. for $2.50 per person per game, and $2.50 shoe rental. This is a good way to motivate your kids and boost their confidence, all while enjoying the time.

  • Rock climbing has become a recent hit for us. PipeWorks has eight different locations in other areas, but the one we devote our upper strength to is in Downtown, Sacramento. They have "40 foot high lead wall, 11,000 feet of climbing terrain, 2,000 square feet of bouldering, and over 70 top and lead ropes (touchstoneclimbing.com)." It's totally safe, and they provide full equipment package rentals from $2-$6. Their day passes are $18 after 3pm on weekdays, and weekends. I would get climbing now.

  • If you have super hyper kids, try trampolines at Skyzone in Rocklin. Let the kids be free and jump all over until they fall asleep. I highly recommend this for an active leisure, and they won't be disappointed. They start off at 30 minutes a jump for $9, 60 minutes for $12, 90 minutes for $16, and 120 minutes for $18. Now, let's see how long you guys can jump for.

  • I'm sure there are still a lot of places out there to choose from, but the ones I've mentioned can relieve some stress, and spend more time with the family. If you just feel like doing something simple, there are always nearby parks, and recreational centers. Make your kids happy, and you'll be happy, too.

  • In an attempt to fix up lunch today, Teresa pulled out another goodie in her bag from her San Francisco trip. These super cute, strawberry shaped bento boxes had double layers, in which you can pack a delicious, and balanced meal. The bottom layer consisted of PB and J. The top layer had cut-shaped tulip cheese, grape tomatoes, a Japanese coconut cookie, Cheez-it crackers, a Japanese fruit Mochi, and a hard boiled egg. And to mention, her girls enjoyed helping to prepare this meal. Theres nothing like a strawberry that can wrap things up. Make it a to-go lunch, to keep the kids energized, and focused.

If you missed any installments of Teresa's column, be sure to read all of her family balanced meal ideas.

  • Earlier this year, we've seen the women hit it off with the hottest trends for S/S 2015. There was a mixed palette of pastels, architectural graphics and prints, and intense hues all around. Now, it's time to let the men have their share of glory in the fashion world. When we talk about high fashion, Alexandre Mattiusi for AMI was one of my favorite collections. The men, who strutted down the runway in Paris, displayed what cool and young is supposed to look like with a slight twist of sophistication. Stripes, plaids, and denim were mixed with your basics of black and white, bright orange, or a pop of red here and there. Bomber jackets, and lightweight trench coats paved throughout the collection with slacks, jeans, or shorts, basic tees, button ups, and sweaters. This cohesive line was hip with suspenders, and ended on a note of solid confidence. Let the men be men. I'm just glad there were no crop tops involved. Browse through AMI's website for more looks, and get inspired. Also, check out other runway shows for men S/S 2015 from Paris on GQ.
